About Markleville, IN

Markleville was laid out by John Markle in 1852, and named after him. It was incorporated as a town in 1912. The site of the Fall Creek Massacre, chronicled by Jessamyn West in her novel Massacre at Fall Creek, is located about a mile from Markleville.
