Quarter Horse Mare for Sale in Montevallo, AL

Meet Sweet Pea: Sweet Pea is an easygoing and incredibly sweet horse. She is an easy keeper - stays fat on grass/hay. I purchased her off Foothills Ranch in Manitoba, Canada as a weanling in 2006. She is not broke to ride, but is sound if you desire to continue her training. She does load, lead, tie, trim, bathe, etc. She is bred to a gorgeous APHC stud for an April 2020 foal - all paperwork will be available for APHC registration. *** I am also selling a 2016 AQHA filly who has a sweet demeanor, but is basically untouched (as in, very minimal handling). She needs someone who is an experienced horse person. Would make an excellent performance prospect! If purchased with one of my broodmares, I will sell for $3oo!*** Transport available within reasonable distance.

About Montevallo, AL

The area where Montevallo is now was once controlled by the Creek Indians. After being acquired in 1814 Jesse Wilson claimed a small hill on the northern bank of the Shoal Creek and created a homestead there, making it the oldest settlement in Shelby County. Wilson's friends and family followed afterwards and also settled in the area, and a settlement known as Wilson's Hill developed on the site. The settlement's location at almost the exact center of Alabama meant it was considered one of the potential sites for the University of Alabama. In an attempt to encourage the university to choose the site the settlement changed its name to Montevallo, which is Italian for the hill in the valley.
