Spur is a drop-dead, GORGEOUS, majestic, and athletic 5-year-old registered Missouri Fox Trotter gelding that stands 15.3 hh with a massive frame, huge bones, and big feet. Spur is a rare gem! He checks all the boxes with his beautiful dark golden color, exquisite conformation, and an extensive list of talents and skills. You will search the world over looking for another like him! Spur has been in our family for 2 years, during which he has excelled in our program from start to finish. From basic groundwork to extreme trail riding, bridleless riding, mounted shooting, tricks, and so much more, Spur is ready for anything! Spur learned the basics correctly. From lunging and facing you, flexing, moving off your legs, picking up his shoulders to yielding his hindquarters, he will do it all softly and easily. He has lots of feel on the ground and in the saddle. He is so soft and supple that he can be ridden with a simple O-ring snaffle or bridleless! Spur will stand perfectly still for mounting every time and will side pass up to the mounting block with the snap of your fingers to make it easier for you. He neck reins softly and easily one-handed, side passes, stops with a simple woah with your seat, and backs with the gentle motion of your legs. Spur has a fancy way of going with a beautiful headset, a fantastic running walk, and a smooth fox trot! All of his gaits are consistently solid and smooth with any rider. He has a lope that is to die for and will lope both leads on cue with smooth transitions. His good ground-covering trail walk and willingness to go where you send him make him a pleasure to ride. Spur knows how to put in a hard days work, is always up for any task, and loves a job. Spur is as experienced as it gets when it comes to trail riding. He will go anywhere and through anything you ask. He is sure-footed, patient, and will carefully ease through the roughest of country without hesitation. Spur can pack all your gear up the mountain and is stout with enough stamina to ride all day in high country. He is good with water, bridges, cattle, bullwhips, dogs, gunfire, traffic, wagons, and wildlife. Spur even knows how to lay down on command from the ground or the saddle! Spur truly is a sweet, loving horse who is willing to do whatever you ask of him. He is fancy and flashy enough to make a super lady’s horse but is stout enough to carry any gentleman.
