Quarter Horse Gelding for Sale in Hurricane, UT

Jack is a 12 year old quarter horse(not papered) that I have owned for the past 6 years. He had shown in 4-H and local/state shows-and has won quite a lot. He has shown in Western Pleasure, Horsemanship, Showmanship, Trail, Equitation, Ranch Horse, and Reigning. However, he cannot do reigning anymore, simply because he is not built for it. He has also done numerous speed events because of 4-H, but it is not his favorite thing to do. He won 1st place in Equitation, and 3rd Overall Pleasure in the state 4-H show, 2015. The reining training I did do on him was personal/professional lessons with Travis Wigen. He is up to date on all shots, deworming, and hock injections-he does have slight arthritis in his hocks due to all the showing over the years. He LOVES to be ridden, and is a puppy dog. He is great with the trailer, picking up his feet, water(bathing), and shaving. He's not cinchy, and he accepts the bridle really well. He is more for advanced intermediates to experienced riders. I do give lessons on him and he is wonderful, but he can be testy sometimes. If you know what your doing, he rarely cocks an attitude. He has great ground manners and can be ridden bridle-less(great with leg cues). The only reasons I am selling him is because he can't do reining, and I am going to college this next year; if I could, I would keep him until he dies. I do have some videos posted. If you would like a video of any specific thing or have any questions, just call, text, or email! If you want to see some recent videos, just type in Britta Nielson to youtube.com and click on her profile.

About Hurricane, UT

Hurricane was first settled in 1896, and received its name after a whirlwind blew the top off a buggy in which Erastus Snow was riding. Snow exclaimed, "Well, that was a Hurricane. We'll name this 'Hurricane Hill'." Hurricane, which is pronounced "Her-ah-kun" by local residents (mimicking the accent of early Liverpudlian settlers), is in eastern Washington County. The community was settled as part of LDS Church President Brigham Young's 'Cotton Mission', intended to establish the southern end of Utah for agricultural purposes. The town once operated a large peach and apricot orchard for the LDS Church, and is historically known for growing peaches, pecans and pistachio nuts on small farms.
