Thoroughbred Mare for Sale in Dover Plains, NY
"Nilus" is a horse I have owned for 5 yrs. When I first got her I worked w / her and got her to where we were showing and pinning in TL dressage as well as Long Stirrup open horse shows; for the past 2 yrs. she has been out of work due to my own lack of time. At this point I need to sell her for financial considerations. VERY sweet, great work ethic, perfect ground manners, current w / vet & farrier work, trailers easy; a really good prospect for someone that has the time to get her working again! She is a horse that I can put a few days of lunge work on and then get her right back into work under saddle with no trouble.

About Dover Plains, NY
It is not known when or by whom the first settlement was made in Dover Plains. Lawrence and Joseph ran the first store under the name Belding & Co. In 1802 the village had less than a dozen buildings. In 1806 Jonathan Mabbett and James Ketcham bought out the Beldings and ran the business under the name Mabbett & Ketcham. When the town of Dover was formed from the town of Pawling, James Ketcham became the first town clerk.
