He was sired by the black Straight Egyptian Bahim Hisan, who also sired Prince Asheem, AERC Heavyweight National Champion Endurance Horse and AERC Reserve Champion BC Endurance Horse. Bahim's tail female line traces to Radia, "the loveliest of all Egypt". Shiraz's dam's sire was El Mokhtar, who was chosen not only for his color, conformation and beauty, but also for his athletic ability for the race scenes and action shots in the movie The Black Stallion Returns. Shriaz has proven his ability to pass on his outstanding gene pool, His foals have his excellent legs, long neck, size and athletic ability.
