Thoroughbred Mare for Sale in Elgin, IL
Skylar is an affectionate mare that does it all. She was shown in the hunter 'A' circuit by a child, and she LOVES to jump! She is great on the trails, either alone or with other horses. She has had a year of professional dressage training and she can do level 2-3 dressage. She crosses water with no problems, she will clip, load, and bathe like an old pro. She has excellent ground manners and is great for the vet or farrier. She is VERY friendly for a mare, is well - behaved in turn - out with other mares, and doesn't have any agressive tendencies. I love this horse very much, but I have to sell her due to financial issues. Asking price is fair, but negotiable. See my ad on Horsetopia. com #59649 for more photos. E - mail Mindy for more photos / info.
About Elgin, IL
The Indian Removal Act of 1830 and the Black Hawk Indian War of 1832 led to the expulsion of the Native Americans who had settlements and burial mounds in the area, and set the stage for the founding of Elgin. Thousands of militiamen and soldiers of Gen. Winfield Scott's army marched through the Fox River valley during the war, and accounts of the area's fertile soils and flowing springs soon filtered east. In New York, James T. Gifford and his brother Hezekiah Gifford heard tales of this area ripe for settlement, and travelled west.
