Quarter Horse Mare for Sale in Brooksville, FL
~Jackie~ 11 yr AQHA Mare 15. 2h. One of those truly hard to find horses. At 11 yrs old she is not too old, nor too young, she is in the prime of her life! Jackie has fantastic bloodlines bred for performance to include Two Eyed Jack and Two D Two. She has had 90 days professional training, has been competing for the last two years in team penning winning over $4000 in local jackpots and has run in speed events in local play days. Jackie is a fantastic family horse, suitable for beginners and kids as she is really well mannered both in the saddle and on the ground and has a really nice handle. She is very confident and not spooky and loves to ride and be with people and other horses. Fantastic conformation and is very good looking! Carrie 352-678- 9477 ropergir***@yahoo. com

About Brooksville, FL
Fort DeSoto, established about 1840 to give protection to settlers from Native Americans, was located at the northeastern edge of present-day Brooksville on Croom Road about one-half mile east of U.S. Highway 41. The fort was also a trading post and a regular stop on the Concord stagecoach line which ran from Palatka to Tampa. The fort was built on top of a heavy bed of limestone, a fact which they were unaware of at the time. This made it exceedingly difficult to obtain water, thus causing the location to be abandoned.
