Appendix Mare for Sale in Canton, NY
Angel is an Appendix QH Mare who has had professional training in Western pleasure. However, she seems to do better in the english disciplines. I have shown her 5-6 times in local, unrated hunter / jumper shows and she proved a very capable horse. She has been shown up to 2'6, schooled 3' and could go higher on a regular working basis. She has a lead change, good ground manners, no vices, no stupid spooking, but not completely "bomb proof". Until she gets more miles, she needs an intermediate rider to build her confidence, but will soon be quiet enough for the beginners. I am only selling this mare because I have grown out of her and I want a horse to do the 3'6 jumpers with now.
About Canton, NY
Humans have been present in this region of New York since the Paleo-Indian period which is from about 15,000-7,000 BC. Iroquoian peoples arrived between 1,200 and 4,000 years ago, and both the Mohawk and the Oneida consider the Adirondacks to be part of their territory . When white settlers began to arrive, the area was part of the Mohawk Nation, which was part of the Iroquois Confederacy. The Mohawks are known as Kanienkehaka, or "the people of the flint," and they were considered the keepers of the Eastern door for this edge of Haudenosaunee territory . The first settler arrived in 1800.
