Percheron Mare for Sale in Charles City, IA
This filly is going to be big and modern! She has a nice long neck, clean legs, and is very balanced. Her sire and dam stand 18h and 18+, so we expect her to mature in that range. This filly is an excellent prospect for riding or driving with her athletic, refined build. She's a lovely mover and has a very trainable disposition. She stands quietly to be groomed and handled. She is a people lover and loves to please! She will also make a great broodmare with her excellent pedigree. Check out our website for pictures of her sire, R. M. D. Funky Duke and grandsire, Kruger's Debbie's Pete. Current on all vaccinations, deworming, and farrier work. Call or email for additional information or any questions. This is a really nice filly!
About Charles City, IA
Located on the site of a Winnebago Indian village, Charles City was originally named "Charlestown" for the son of the first-known white settler to the area, Joseph Kelly. Upon his 1851 arrival to the area, Kelly envisioned the site, with its ample supply of water from the Cedar River and adjacent timberland, as an ideal location for a town. By 1852, twenty-five other settler families had joined Kelly in that vision and a community was born. The town name changed, first to "St. Charles" and then to "Charles City," to avoid duplication of other Iowa town names.
