People say when they see him in person he looks like Cass Ole` when he played his role in the movie The Black Stallion, and he acts like him in spirit and devotion with our family. A couple of unincorporated communities are within the township: Abbottsford, also called Abbotsford and Abbottsville, is on the eastern boundary with Clyde Township at Cribbins and Bryce Roads ( 43°01′12″N 82°38′00″W / 43.02000°N 82.63333°W / 43.02000; -82.63333 ; Elevation: 696 ft./212 m.). Ignace Morass built a sawmill here in 1816 on the Mill Creek off of the Pine River. James Abbott bought both the sawmill and a grist mill that had been built by Zephaniah W. Bunce. The settlement around the mills was named for Abbott.
