Quarter Horse Mare for Sale in Hodgenville, KY
A Captivating Notice (Aka Smoke) is 15.1 HH hand, 10 year old, Registered American Quarter Horse mare that is very stocky built and as pretty as they come! If you have been looking for that perfect trail partner for you and your family then look no further smoke is the one for you. Horses like smoke are very rare and hard to find. I’ve never owned one like her in my life. Smoke is very fancy broke and is very safe, quiet and gentle. She is the definition of Gentle Giant. She is a finished trail horse, with experience in ranch work, checking fences and gathering cattle. NOTHING phases her. She is seasoned on the organized and local trail rides. She has been to big parades. She has ridden in the mountains. She will ride in a group or alone. She will pony colts and mares all day long. She has an easy stop. You put your feet forward or slightly lean forward, and she stops right then and there. Has a great back up. Will carry a flag. She has been great for my whole family. She is sure-footed on trails and HONEST. Walks through ditches, logs, and water, etc.- a point-and-go kind of ride. She would be great for lessons or confidence builder. My favorite thing about her is how gentle and safe she is; my five-year-old son and wife love to ride her! Don’t worry about having a hard time mounting her because she will sidepass over to the mounting block with the just snap of your fingers or whirl of your rein.
Smoke would make a great trail competition horse and has used on an obstacle course. We have ridden her many miles and has seen it all. She is suitable for all types of riders, whether they know the general basics of riding or anyone who wants a fun, safe, relaxing, and stress-free horse to ride. She is good for the farrier and easy to bathe, as well as load into a trailer. She is well-trained, with a nice one-hand neck rein or direct rein; it doesn’t matter, as it depends on what’s comfortable for you. She can side pass to open gates, backs, has a nice turn around, and a nice trot. She will also short lope from a standstill. She honestly feels like your riding a small horse with the handle and moves that she has. Smoke is as close to bombproof as she can be. Take smoke home and put her to work in any direction. The sky is the limit with her. Your favorite thing about her will be how quiet and safe she is, and how she stays that way even with time off. Don’t miss out on this rare opportunity to own such a unique and hard to find family horse. PPE is welcome at the buyer’s expense. Call or Text Adam anytime. About Hodgenville, KY
Robert Hodgen, a Pennsylvania native who moved to Virginia, purchased 10,000 acres of land in the vicinity. In 1789, after the American Revolutionary War, when settlers started moving west into Kentucky, he built a mill at the site. After his death, the community that developed around it was called Hodgenville upon the petition of his widow and children. The United States post office at the site, however, was known as Hodgensville from 1826 to 1904. The city was formally incorporated by the state assembly on February 18, 1836.
