Paint Gelding for Sale in Argyle, TX
SPOONS STRAIGHT FRECKLE, a 2014 APHA registered Tobiano Gelding standing 13hh and built to last. With bloodlines going back to PEPTOBOONSMAL and FRECKLES PLAYBOY, this pony was made to work on the ranch. Fondly known as Wrangler, he is every cowpoke’s dream. Loudly marked with a thick mane and tail, he’s as good-looking as he is good-minded. Wrangler keeps up with the big horses and pulls his weight. Wrangler likes to work and will happily tote your ranch kid around working cows all day. Good to handle and low to the ground, kids as young as 7 have easily groomed, saddled, and bathed Wrangler unassisted. Wrangler has a good stop, walk, trot, and lopes; both lead reliably and will go only as fast as asked. Wrangler lunges on a lunge line for those who’d like to take their time warming up, but it is also good to saddle and go. Wrangler is tolerant under-saddle and will tolerate a rider learning to have good cues; with the more seasoned horse kid, add a set of spurs, and he’ll offer a more precise ride. Currently owned by a youth rider who enjoys riding trails and playdays, Wrangler has also been used in a lesson-lease program for beginner riders.
Barefoot sound, he has previously been shod on the front for added traction while turning barrels and pole-bending. Hauled regularly, Wrangler loads and backs off the trailer easily and eats and drinks on the road. Not sensitive to weather or travel and unfazed by new locations and commotion. Regularly seen by a vet and farrier, Wrangler is UTD and well-maintained. Staying fat and shiny on air Wrangler enjoys coastal in turnout and alfalfa hay in the stall, no maintenance or supplements needed. Although he is pint-sized, Wrangler is all horse with no pony habits; he is as kind and patient as one of the big boys. Extremely versatile Wrangler is all good he remains un-soured by his time teaching beginner kids to ride or his days barrel racing, he has retained every good thing he’s learned and seems to only get better. Wrangler is an exceptional pony with a long usable life ahead. We proudly offer him for sale for the next generation of ranch kids to enjoy!

About Argyle, TX
The first European settlement, consisting of a few families, occurred in the Argyle area in the 1850s. The place was then known as Pilot Knob or Waintown. The settlement gradually acquired a few amenities in the late 1800s: a school in 1875, a Baptist church in 1876, and a post office in 1878. The community was formally founded and renamed Argyle in 1881, after the Texas and Pacific railroad built a track through the area. Some believe a railroad surveyor named the town after a garden in France.
