Your search is over, here is your Prince Charming… We have had April since a yearling and he’s never been anywhere else but in our care. He was kind of a late bloomer, but flourished as a four year old. This Gypsy gelding is absolutely ASTONISHING! He is as balanced and correct as you will find in conformation and has a babydoll head. I am extremely proud and personally attached to this handsome boy and he will be a hard one to let go of. April is the most beautiful BUCKSKIN color with four perfectly matched socks and an equally portioned blazed face. He grows a lot of mane and tail, which I have never kept braided and he’s lived outside in our pasture and it doesn’t knot or tangle. He would grow crazy hair if someone wanted to tend to it. April rides like our quarter horses. He’s unbelievably good legged and a gorgeous mover. We have never had a Gypsy Vanner that can lope like this guy. He could lope a circle in the palm of your hand. He has a great jog, beautiful extended trot and a ground covering walk. All is gaits are super smooth and comfortable to ride. From day one and our first ride, April has been nothing but a gentle soul. He is such a people pleaser and so eager to do whatever you ask of him. His transitions between gaits are flawless. He has perfect lead departures and guides willingly and effortlessly wherever you point him. He has a great stop and really knows the word “whoa”, just say it and no matter the situation he will stand like a wooden Indian until asked to move. He has cute spins both directions, an amazing side pass, and a lead change. April has been over all the trail obstacles for years and nothing bothers him. Bridges, log drags, trot over poles, blowing tarps, heavy machining, loud gunfire, etc. he’s accustomed to it all. He will ride the same western, English, bareback, and bridle-less, whatever your gig is, he is game. April is fun in the arena, but he’s a trail riding machine with very sure feet and perfect placement in the boulders and rocks, thick brush, and tight places. He will ground tie where you drop a rein and lead by an ear, so no halter required. He would be a blast to take camping or on mountain rides. He’s confident alone and never looks for a buddy, although he’s everyone’s favorite in the pasture. April is the sweetest boy and a total love bug. He will bond with his person, but loves attention from all. He will try to understand you, and work hard to make you proud of him and accomplish the goals you have for him. He has impeccable ground manners and will stand quietly to mount every single time and ride with zero silly business no matter how much down time he’s had. He is incredibly sane minded and 100% quiet and gentle everyday. And to let the fun continue, April drives! He pulls a cart and the 12ft wagon. He’s a complete natural and took to it like a duck in water. We drove him around our entire property on the very first drive. We drive him down our busy roads and have complete faith in him and again he has a total off switch with just the word “whoa”. He will stand hooked up alone as long as you want. Ride or drive, he is whole bundle of fun! April has been raised around our menagerie and this circus we call life. He has seen it all from camels, buffalo, pigs, raccoons, kangaroos, longhorn cattle, unlimited dogs and so much more. Nothing has ever been an issue throughout his training and he’s taken it all in stride. We have a lot of time, miles, and love invested in him. He’s not just a good one, he’s a great one and we are excited to offer this remarkable Gypsy Vanner gelding we affectionately call, April.
About Memphis, TN
Occupying a substantial bluff rising from the Mississippi River, the site of Memphis has been a natural location for human settlement by varying cultures over thousands of years. The area was known to be settled in the first millennium A.D. by people of the Mississippian Culture, who had a network of communities throughout the Mississippi River Valley and its tributaries. They built complexes with large earthwork ceremonial and burial mounds as expressions of their sophisticated culture. The historic Chickasaw Indian tribe, believed to be their descendants, later occupied the site.
