Missouri Fox Trotter Mare for Sale in Laporte, CO
We could list all the wonderful qualities of P.R.’s Kiss Me Kate, but the truth is, this mare is far more than a list of traits. We have enjoyed countless miles with this mare, enjoying the peace of nature and the connection with the horse, which is one of the reasons we all love to ride. Kate has helped us enjoy this time with her gentle demeanor, and we have trusted her with children who we want to instill the love of horses in that we have. This mare embodies just that as a 9-year-old girl who enjoyed riding this mare through the mountains, smiling the whole time as she rode away from the group and then back, simply enjoying being with Kate. She rides out alone with Kate, as we trust this mare to care for our child. Not only does she have the mind that allows us to go through rivers, cross the mountains, move cattle through the feedlot, or do any obstacle course you might want, but she also learned to drive with style and ease. She has also been a mother to some beautiful babies and has been used for breeding to make any Missouri Fox Trotter breeder very happy. Kate is genuinely safe for anyone and would love to continue riding the trails, moving cattle, or simply being someone’s best friend at her forever home. We have truly loved having Kate in our program and know she will make an excellent partner for her next person. Thank you from Totonka Trail Equine. To contact, text or call is best, no voicemail, we will get back to you within a couple days.

About Laporte, CO
The town was first settled by French-Canadian fur trappers and mountain men. It was the gateway to all the mountainous region lying north of the South Platte River and extending from the Plains to the Continental Divide. The trappers built cabins here along the Cache la Poudre River as early as 1828, making it the first white settlement in Larimer County. According to legend, a group of fur traders had earlier stashed supplies (including gunpowder) in a cache along the river near Laporte, and that is how the river got its name. It became the home of Antoine Janis in 1844, who is often noted as the first permanent white settler north of the Arkansas River.
