Mustang Gelding for Sale in Antlers, OK

OPEN BIDDING ON THEHORSEBAY.COM ENDS ON 12/23 @ 3:40 PM CT. More information is available on the website, including an UTD vet inspection, Coggins, video, images, and the owner's contact information to ask questions, request information, or make arrangements to come to visit. Big Jon is a 16-hand, bay roan gelding with a soft, kind eye, big-boned, and big foot wearing a #4 shoe. He is an American Mustang from Stinking Water, Oregon. He is from a herd well known for their gentle nature and drafty size. He has a gentle, puppy dog personality and would rather spend time with people than with other horses. He will be the first at the gate every time and waits patiently to be haltered. He has been in our training program for 2 years, where he learned to yield each quarter separately, one rein stops, and back on voice cue. He will also two-track, side pass, stop, and back without using the reins. He has spent time on an Amish farm where he used for cutting, raking, and baling hay. Big Jon has been used to starting many other mustangs and handling the rope like a pro. He rides sure-footed and safely in rough terrain. He has been in parades and rodeo grand entries. He will ride between fire trucks with their lights and sirens blazing without hesitation. Our daughter has ridden him countless miles in the past couple of years. Big Jon is big, safe, gentle, beautiful, and a cool icon of the American West. He is a horseman’s dream that anyone from the grandkids to the grandparents can enjoy. He is the perfect example of a gentle giant. And do not worry about his size, he will side pass over to a mounting block, gate, tailgate, etc to pick you up. To meet Big Jon or if you have any questions, please call David.

About Antlers, OK

Evidence exists of prehistoric occupation and activity within the city limits of present-day Antlers. Arrowheads are found periodically at sites throughout the town. Most of the prehistoric sites are atop hills, which the inhabitants could use for defensive purposes and found the most healthful. A Mississippian culture settlement developed at Spiro Mounds, which was active from the mid-9th into the 15th century. This is the westernmost site of the culture and it is "one of the most important archeological discoveries in North America." The 80-acre site is preserved today as Oklahoma's only state archeological park.
