Zip is a 36-inch-tall mini Friesian pony, as I like to call him. He looks just like a mini version of a Friesian. Look at his gorgeous mane. We have owned Zip for almost two years now. He has been a joy with our kids. Ages 8-3 have ridden Zip. He has taught my 5-year-old to be confident at the trot. Zip is two-handed, and my 5-year-old had to learn how to steer. Zip and my five-year-old ride around our whole property, going on adventures. Zip loves going out on his own with his little partner. He has a nice, slow, easy walk. He responds to cues when asked. He turns on a dime. Making for the perfect step-up pony or confident beginner to start learning how to guide and learn to sit, gallop, and trot. He has spent countless hours in the round pen as the kids play with him with the ball, the tarp climbing all over, you name it. He is constantly around several dogs at one time. My kid can catch him saddle and bridle him all by himself. He stands tied for hours, loads, trims, and baths. He has a mane to die for, which your little girl or boy can spend time brushing and braiding—another skill my kids have learned. Zip isn’t for a timid rider out on the trail because if something comes out of the woodwork, he wasn’t expecting, he will go into a trot. It’s easy to turn and stop, but sometimes, the little riders forget how to turn. I could see Zip having fun in-hand classes. He has nice forward movement, a pretty mane, and conformation, so he could do well. My five-year-old will go on trail rides by himself every day. Zip never is in a hurry to catch up with the other horses. He is happy to go the speed the child wants to go. He will climb and go down anything. Please contact us if you would like to know more information and see if he is a good fit for your little one. He has had his basic PPE utd on shots, deworming, trimming, and teeth. We have never had any soundness issues with Zip.
