Hello everyone. I would like to formally introduce you to “Hatchet”. He is a 4-year-old bay and white spotted saddle horse gelding standing almost 15.1 hands tall on a keg shoe. Hatchet is a tried and tested trail horse deluxe! This horse has spent his life blazing trails all over middle Tennessee, central and eastern Kentucky. This boy is looking to find an avid trail rider to spend the rest of his life with. Hatchet will go up or down even the steepest mountain, cross any body of water, ride anywhere in your group and is broke to spend the night on the tie line in the back country. My wife and I have thoroughly enjoyed having this horse around this summer. We cataloged over 275 miles of trails on him ourselves. Hatchet has a smooth 4 beat saddle gait, has a beautiful canter, has a light and responsive handle to him. Hatchet does all the right things, he stands quietly, shoes the the best, stands to be tacked up, loves a bath, will haul quietly around mares and geldings, and when stabled you never know he’s on the property. Hatchet stands patiently as you mount and dismount with or without mounting a block, has been ridden around dogs, traffic, ATVs, tractors, cows, has had .22 rifle shot off and around him, also has ponied young horses off him around the farm. Hatchet is current on coggins, dental work, up to date on vaccines and also shoeing as well. I can go on and on all day about all the things I’ve done with this guy and all the things I exposed him to, but instead, I encourage you to watch his entire video and make an appointment to come test him out in person! I spent all summer and most of the fall putting this guy in and out of various situations and circumstances, and he has passed all the tests, and now he’s looking to find his new trail partner. As always, I encourage anyone interested to call with any more questions and come ride to try before you buy so that I can make sure we get the perfect fit for each customer and horse.

About Hustonville, KY
The community was originally known as The Crossroads from its location on trails connecting the Kentucky and Green rivers and the Falls of the Ohio with Logan's Fort (present-day Stanford). It was then known as Farmington and, after the 1818 erection of a post office, Hanging Fork after a local stream named for two bandits who were hanged by Virginia officers rather than escorted back for trial. For three months in 1826, it was known as New Store, but the name then returned to Hanging Fork. When the town was established on February 29, 1836, it was renamed Hustonville after two local landowners; the post office adopted the name the next year. The city was formally incorporated by the state assembly in 1850.
