Big Chief “Yeti” 15.3 HH Paint/Draft cross Gelding If you have been looking for a horse to load up and ride all day, you’ve found the right one. Need to hop off of him to grab something? Find a step and raise your hand; this horse will step over for you to mount. In a bind and need to ride off away from your group? Do not stress it; Yeti will leave the group without thinking twice. Busy taking pictures of the views on your scenic ride? No problem, lay your reins down and let him follow the trail. This horse has all the needed experience, buttons, and endurance desired for your picture-perfect trail horse. Yeti, also known as “Big Chief” because of his broad stature, is a draft cross gelding who has been there and done that. This gelding has been used as a guide horse at a riding stable for years, and he looks forward to spending his days on the trail. He has been through ponds and rivers, up hills and banks, down bluffs and drop-offs, over obstacles and jumps, and rode in every direction. While Yeti is a deluxe trail horse, that is not where his abilities end. He is very experienced in an arena where he has been riding on obstacles of all kinds. This gelding will side-pass over anything you line him up beside with just a bit of leg pressure. Yeti is known to ride in any direction you point him, paying no mind to anything that might cause other horses to become watchy or spook. He lopes off in both directions on the correct lead, has a smooth flying lead change, and looks beautiful while doing it. He will yield his shoulders and hindquarters, making it simple to open gates without dismounting. Parades and events are a common experience for this gelding, as he has been in several large parades. You can ride alongside firetrucks blaring their horns, oncoming traffic, crowds of people, and any other distraction without this horse missing a beat. Sound with no vices. Yeti has been ridden by riders of varying experience levels and does well for intermediate riders. With an experienced rider to lead him, he is able to show off his buttons and athleticism.

About Cave City, KY

The site upon which Cave City stands was acquired in October 1853 by the Knob City Land Company, composed of Messrs. Graham, Quigly, Adams, and Hopson, all of whom were from Louisville and envisioned the place as a resort town due to its proximity to Mammoth Cave. The town was incorporated in 1866. Originally, 200 acres (81 ha) of what would become the town site was acquired by James Perry in a 1798 land grant. In 1811, Henry Roundtree (an assignee of James Perry) sold the land to John Owens for $190.
