Azteca Gelding for Sale in Laporte, CO

OPEN BIDDING ON THEHORSEBAY.COM ENDS ON 9/25 @ 4:20 PM CT. More information is available on the website, including an UTD vet inspection, Coggins, video, images, and the owner's contact information to ask questions, request information, or make arrangements to come to visit. Ahanu is a stunning, big-boned Azteca gelding who is perfect for anyone! He has been used to gathering cattle on the ranch, teaching lessons to little ones, and is the ideal trail partner. He is big enough to carry any rider and gentle enough to care for kiddos in the arena and on the trail. This guy is as sweet as they come, will follow you around like a big puppy dog, and will seek out to meet you anywhere in the pasture. He is easy to catch and tack up and stands for the farrier and vet. Leave him off for months – he stays broke and GENTLE and will be the same horse when you’re ready to ride again. He has cared for green riders in all terrain and is sure-footed and mindful. This guy has seen it all. He’s been all over the rocky mountains, around ATVs, tractors, dogs, and wildlife, and through town with no worries about bikes, strollers, bridges, or pedestrians. He will cross logs, streams, and creeks without batting an eye. He loads and unloads like one should, hauls great in a stock trailer or slant load, and does well on the road. Ahanu not only has the perfect temperament, but he is flashy, too! He is a beautiful red roan paint with lots of chrome! This handsome guy will get you noticed anywhere you go. He is happy to be out in the pasture with a mixed herd or in a stall or pen setting. He is an easy keeper with no maintenance. He has the stamina to ride all day or is happy occasionally to fool around in the arena. We enjoyed having this guy around and can’t wait to see where he goes next! Thank you in advance from totonkatrailequine. We look forward to everyone’s calls and meeting you. We will return your call if you leave us a text message. No voicemail! Shipping can be arranged anywhere in the United States or internationally. Payment is expected by noon on the next business day via wire transfer. Thank you again from totonkatrailequine.

About Laporte, CO

The town was first settled by French-Canadian fur trappers and mountain men. It was the gateway to all the mountainous region lying north of the South Platte River and extending from the Plains to the Continental Divide. The trappers built cabins here along the Cache la Poudre River as early as 1828, making it the first white settlement in Larimer County. According to legend, a group of fur traders had earlier stashed supplies (including gunpowder) in a cache along the river near Laporte, and that is how the river got its name. It became the home of Antoine Janis in 1844, who is often noted as the first permanent white settler north of the Arkansas River.
