Missy Lou is the sweetest mule around and is ready to be your next trail partner! This molly will take care of ANY level rider all day long. She is as safe as they come, will ride or pack, and is the perfect mule for a first-time mule owner! She has been ridden by kids all over but is the perfect size for just about anyone. She is big enough to pack an adult around comfortably but small enough for the little ones to feel safe. Missy is friendly, stands like a gem to be saddled, and doesn’t mind her ears being played with, making her super easy to bridle. She has been ridden all over in the mountains and town and will cross creeks, bridges, logs, etc, with no issues. She has no spook at bikes, strollers, or tractors and will ride next to ATVs and with dogs. Missy will ride anywhere in a group, confidently leading from the front or following with ease. She has smooth gaits and will walk, trot, or lope out if asked. She is easy to handle and deworm and loves attention. Missy loads and unloads like one should, hauls great, and is a favorite of the vet and farrier. She can be kept in any situation and is not pushy or rude. Try Missy Lou for yourself and see just why we love her! We look forward to everyone’s calls and meeting you. We will return your call if you leave us a text message. No voicemail! About Laporte, CO

The town was first settled by French-Canadian fur trappers and mountain men. It was the gateway to all the mountainous region lying north of the South Platte River and extending from the Plains to the Continental Divide. The trappers built cabins here along the Cache la Poudre River as early as 1828, making it the first white settlement in Larimer County. According to legend, a group of fur traders had earlier stashed supplies (including gunpowder) in a cache along the river near Laporte, and that is how the river got its name. It became the home of Antoine Janis in 1844, who is often noted as the first permanent white settler north of the Arkansas River.
