Pony Mare for Sale in Napa, CA
Stunning Welsh X TB Grey Mare
Vienna
8yo Welsh/TB
Grey mare
14.1hh approx
Vienna has been a fantastic, hardy, fun pony we’ve had the delight in owning for the past 4yrs. This is a very sad sale and has not been an easy decision. She was used in our riding school for approximately 2yrs during the 4yrs we’ve owned her, and we bought her green broken. She has only had the one owner prior to us who initially broke her in.
She's super quiet, kind and is easy to do everything with once you get to know her and establish your leadership with her. She has had all abilities ride her including led pony rides however is best suited to the one rider to bond with. She’s done off site lessons, been to the beach, been ridden on trails, gone to jump clubs in her earlier years and is fantastic working at liberty.
Vienna is a solid, well built, versatile mare who will be best suited with an experienced, confident adult or teen rider who has soft hands, an independent seat, and knows how to read horse body language well. She’s very smart, so will be lazy if she’s given the option.
She is a fun pony, and has the potential to excel in any chosen discipline from show jumping to pony dressage/western dressage Etc. As a trainer myself I've spent time establishing her foundations which you can see in her lateral movement during flat work. She has fantastic leg and seat aids, and will often put herself in a natural frame.
She lives at a very busy Tourist Farm so has had a lot of exposure over the years to many scary things including busy traffic, machinery noise, farm animals, dogs, alpacas, goats, sheep, donkeys and pigs. She loves being ridden bitless but can be ridden with a bit. Jump on bareback in the paddock in a rope halter and lead, ride english or western saddles. She loves a splash in the creek and on the beach so no issues with going through water. She is easy to catch, ties up well and is great for the farrier (only ever been barefoot) great to float load etc.

Genuine inquiries only. We want to find her a one person forever home with an experienced horsey family who can take her to her full potential.

About Napa, CA
The name "Napa" was probably derived from the name given to a southern Nappan village whose native people shared the area with elk, deer, grizzlies and cougars for many centuries, according to Napa historian Kami Santiago. At the time of the first recorded exploration into Napa Valley in 1823, the majority of the inhabitants consisted of Native American Indians. Padre José Altimira, founder of Mission San Francisco Solano in Sonoma, led the expedition. Spanish priests converted some natives; the rest were attacked and dispersed by Spanish soldiers. American farmers began arriving in the 1830s.
