Kissin The Blues Away (Takoda)
#01074024
2017 Registered Bay Roan American Paint Horse
Takoda is a nice size athletic gelding at 15.2 hands and trained in Obstacle Challenge and Trail. He is the perfect candidate for Ranch Riding, Ranch Trail, Ranch Versatility, Mounted Shooting, Mounted Patrol or Drill Team.
Takoda’s ground manners are impeccable, and he knows groundwork inside and out. This is a quiet, good-natured gelding that likes to join up with his rider and has a splendid work ethic. He walks out with confidence, has a ground covering trot and a nice lope.
Takoda is current on vaccines, farrier, deworming, and Coggins. This is a low, low, low maintenance guy! At six years of age, he is ready to go in any direction in which you want to point him.
Obstacles are not an issue with Takoda; he crosses water, ditches, bridges, logs, tarps, opens, and closes gates, and moves through obstacle curtains (you can wrap them over him or around his legs).
He has undergone extensive desensitizing – you can shoot off him and crack a bull whip around and over him and then drag it across him.
You can bounce a ball off him or under him. You can also pony another horse or mule with him. He rides out alone or in a group quietly. Takoda can be placed in the front, the middle or he can bring up the rear.
He has been exposed to all kinds of wildlife such as deer, wild hogs, turkey, and geese. He goes great barefoot but was shod when ridden extensively on rocky terrain.
He does fine pastured or stalled, stands quietly for grooming, tack, fly spray, clipping, and baths. He is easy to load on a straight load or slant load and hauls great.

About Rogersville, AL
The town became an incorporated municipality on February 2, 1858. Originally known as "Rodgersville", it took its name from Andrew and Patience Rodgers of South Carolina who moved into the area and purchased 79.8 acres (323,000 m 2) at a public land sale in Huntsville on May 3, 1818. Their land eventually became what is now the downtown business district. When the Rogersville Post Office was established on October 4, 1825 with Thomas Cunningham as the postmaster, the 'd' was dropped from the town's name and it has been known as Rogersville ever since. The town became a popular trading center due in part to its location near the intersection of three early thoroughfares, U.S.
