Pony Mare for Sale in Amherst, VA

Blue is a 8 year old, blue roan pony. Blue is 44 inches tall. We use to use her to herd cows, but the kids out grow her. She has been swimming in the creek and river. She picks up all four of her feet! She has walked up steps. Gets on and off the trailer just fine! Is not scared of stuff. Prince is a liver chest nut. He was born on April 15th 2023. He is turning in the a really nice colt! He has been learning on being tied, lead, to stand for fly spray, pick up all four feet, he loves to be brush, and he loves scratches! He love attention! About Amherst, VA

Amherst was founded in 1807. Originally known as "The Oaks" and "Seven Oaks", it began as a mere stagecoach station on the Charlottesville- Lynchburg road. Once Nelson County was separated from Amherst County in 1807, the community became the seat of Amherst County. It was at this time that the village decided to rename itself in honor of French and Indian War hero Jeffery Amherst, 1st Baron Amherst. Major-General Amherst had been the hero of the Battle of Ticonderoga and later served as the governor of the Colony of Virginia from 1763 to 1768.
