Alaska’s Apache Wind, “Phoenix,” is an exceptional horse – from his striking silver Sabino color to his calm, gentle disposition and showy, smooth gait! He is a showstopper! His Sabino color means his silver-gray color will never fade or turn white as he ages. He will always be a real attention-getter with his silver coat, snow-white markings, mane, and tail. At only five years of age, he will only get better!
Phoenix is a pleasure to own and ride and spend time with. When called, he will come to you in the pasture and thrives on attention. Little girls in our neighborhood come to see and pet him regularly. We call them his fan club. He will come at a lope when they arrive and stand at the fence for them to pet and hug him. This beautiful boy will travel on the rail or the trail. He has been exposed to everything – city streets and the mountain wilderness. He knows his stall in the barn and will go to it when released from the pasture and back to the pasture at liberty. Or he will stand mannerly on high lines, high ties, or behind solar electric fences, as he is an experienced boon-dock trail horse. Phoenix loads and backs out of trailers like a champ and stands like a gentleman for the farrier.
Phoenix has a natural, extremely smooth Tennessee Walking Horse gait. Phoenix has that true head-shaking, running walk gait that is the smoothest ride you could ask for and is a joy to ride all day. He also has a smooth canner. He will one-hand neck rein, back, and side pass. He rides solo or in a group, leading or following. He is comfortable with dogs and cattle. He is fine with tarps, raincoats, umbrellas, and gunfire. He will cross streams, rivers, ditches, wooden or concrete bridges, tunnels, and tree logs and climb the rockiest of mountains. He will stand for mount or dismount from either side. He doesn’t mind trucks, tractors, lawnmowers, ATVs, motorcycles, or bicycles. He has ridden along highways and on downtown city streets.
Phoenix is a special horse with the best personality. He is a horse for any confident beginner rider and up. Phoenix is your man if you want a stand-out, beautiful companion and riding partner.
