Draft Gelding for Sale in Brodhead, KY
Atlas is a stout built Bay Tobiano Draftcross Gelding, standing 15.2hh, he is 5 years old and is absolutely stunning to look at! Atlas has been with us since March of 2022 and has completed our natural horsemanship program. Atlas is trained to lay down for mounting and discounting. He also will set on him his rump like a dog. Atlas will lope nice circles, take his leads, slide stop and back with ease! He has a very soft and easy lope! He has been used in all aspects of ranching from roping and dragging cows, to sorting and loading… I’v had him trail riding in several different states and also ridden him a couple parades. Atlas loves attention in any form that he can get it whether that be brushing or bathing and has a ton of personality! He has been ridden around farm equipment, ATV’s, over large noisy tarps and has also had guns shot off of his back. No matter where he goes or what he does, Atlas is not spooky acting. He has been exposed to all kinds of wildlife such as deer or turkey or other animals like cows or dogs and will go anywhere that he is asked too. He has been rode many miles in the mountains of Kentucky and encountered every obstacle possible on the trail. He will go up or down even the steepest slopes, across deep creeks, over downed trees, and over all types of rough terrain while still being sure footed. Feel free to Dillon Hughes with any questions at 606-308-9905. Located in Brodhead, KY.
About Brodhead, KY
What is now Brodhead was originally a stagecoach stop and drover's stable known as Stigalls Station. When the L&N Railroad reached the area in early 1868, a train station was established, and the town was given its current name. The town is believed to have been named for the contractor responsible for building the rail line in the area, or for Richard Brodhead, a U.S. senator from Pennsylvania.
