Haflinger Mare for Sale in Weatherford, TX
"Athena" - 13.2H, 8 year old palomino Haflinger mare"Athena" is an absolute joy to have around! Everyone on our place adores this little mare! She will walk-trot-lope around with no bridle, and plant her little booty in the ground anytime you say "WHOA"! Athena has spectacular, SMOOTH as they get gaits, a great little trot and lope, and goes absolutely anywhere that you point her on a loose, long, drapey rein! She also goes cute English and would be great for the entry level fox hunts, dressage, hunter/jumper, eventing, or pony club! Athena has been in countless parades and is our go-to trail rider. She loves going to town and is as brave as they come in traffic and commotion, loud noises and crowds. She is incredible out alone and also rides very relaxed anywhere in a group. Hauls perfect, hops right on the trailer, and ties quietly anywhere. East to catch, lead, saddle, bridle, pick out feet, bathe, etc. Athena loves children and is so comfy and a great confidence builder. She is up to date on all cares, she is in super health, is an easy keeper, has excellent feet, has been power pack wormed, just had her teeth done by an equine dentist, and is ready to go to her new job and new home. She loves being kept in the barn, but is also happy kept out alone, or in a big group. Super easy little mare that is uncomplicated and no trouble to have around! Please check back for even more videos to be added to her page in the next 2 weeks! We encourage potential buyers to please come and try sale horses in person - we would love to meet you and your family, and we enjoy selling our horses in person, privately, through sales appointments. Please call Ashley anytime at 214-605-7174.
About Weatherford, TX
In 1854, Methodist Reverend Pleasant Tackett led 15 pioneer families into a land they called " Goshen," which would later become part of Parker County, itself to be created the following year by the efforts of State Representative Isaac Parker and State Senator Thomas Jefferson Weatherford in the Texas State Legislature. [a] Evidence of a prior, failed attempt to colonize the region can be found in the abandoned cabin from 1852-53 located 6 miles (9.7 km) south of modern Weatherford on the J.H. Voorhies farm. In 1856 The railroad arrived in June 1880. The Santa Fe Depot (which houses the Weatherford Chamber of Commerce) was built in 1908 under Jim Crow laws, with waiting rooms segregated and separated by the ticket office.
