Draft Gelding for Sale in Everett, PA
This stunning 5 year old black crossbred gelding (percheron X quarter horse) stands 15.2 hands tall and has substance for days. Murdock is one of the most uniquely beautiful crossbreds you’re going to find, he has a big kind eye, gorgeous long curly forelock and mane and just the right amount of feathers to be pretty but not high maintenance. His build is flattering as he is heavy made but still sporty enough to go all day wether it be out on the trail, working on the ranch or for miles of jumps on cross country or a hunt. On the ground this guy is a big sweetie, he is gentle to handle, will tie single or on cross ties, good to bathe in the wash rack, good to clip, polite for the vet and farrier to work on and loves to be pampered and fussed over. He loads into any style trailer and hauls like a dream. Murdock lives quietly in a stall or peacefully in a mixed herd. Murdock is easy to catch and stands to be groomed and tacked up. Under saddle he will ride western and english- he has three comfortable gaits and is very soft in his chin and maintains nice collection when in contact, he will walk, trot and canter, has an excellent stop and backs up. Murdock has been successfully used in my lesson program and is uncomplicated to ride. He is not spooky and will move off of leg and knows verbal commands as well. This horse is an absolute trail boss and does all the things the very best trails horses are expected to do- he will cross water, go through mud/thick brush and over down trees and easily negotiate off roading through uneven terrain and up and down steep grades. Murdock will trail blaze alone or go out in a group he’s happy to take the lead or bring up the rear, Murdock is good with others riding around him, along side him and directly behind him. He is good with traffic, machinery and dogs. He has even ridden down town on the sidewalk for miles during new years doing some site seeing and never batted an eye! Murdock has been over bridges, across tarps and other obstacles as well, not much phases this guy. Murdock is also trained to drive and is a dream in harness, he is good out on the hard road and with cars passing by as well as around the farm and through the field. Murdock has a laundry list of great attributes that would allow him to go in many directions wether you want a trail horse, western arena horse, big using ranch horse or a fox hunting type he is your guy- he has a want to please attitude and is extremely willing and good minded horse. Murdock has been started over jumps and absolutely flourishes with it, he was one of the easiest horses I’ve ever put over a fence and is brave and confident, he enjoys it and isn’t afraid of “fill” in the jumps or solid jumps and will take natural logs and water jumps like a champ. This horse has the best work ethic and it truly lets him shine every time you pull him out!!! Be sure to check out his full video to see just how well rounded this dreamboat is. Murdock sells 100% sound with no vices or limitations, he is scar and blemish free, barefoot and just perfect in every way. If you’d like to meet Murdock please Benny Hall 814-979-2046 a call and we can schedule a time that works best for everyone to come see him in Everett, PA. As always vet exams are welcomed at the perspective buyers expense. If you need shipping arrangements we would be happy to help connect you to some of the haulers we have used often and recommend.
About Everett, PA
Over 200 years ago, the sun pierced through the thick forest on a small Indian village and trading post known as Bloody Run, which was located on a wagon road headed to Fort Dusquesne in south central Pennsylvania. [ citation needed ] In 1787, Michael Barndollar purchased the land in this area, and laid out a town which was originally called Waynesburg. This name was never widely used and this small village was incorporated as a borough in November 1860, to be known as Bloody Run. While this name carries with it many interesting stories and much history, the name was changed in February 1873 to Everett. The Everett Historic District was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.
