If you’ve been looking for your very own Mr. Ed to love and ride like the Mr. Ed America fell in love with on the screen, you can stop your search! “Mr.Ed” is one we are excited to offer to the public and brings something to the table that EVERYONE can appreciate! Mr. Ed sports everyone’s favorite markings; four white socks, a bold blaze, and dapples for days. This gelding has all of the eye appeal you could ever want, but he’s not just pretty to look at. He has a handle and pedigree that everyone can appreciate no matter what you’re wanting to do. Mr. Ed was bred and raised on the award winning Haythorn Ranch in Nebraska. His sire, Nu Cash Cow, sired many reined cow horse champions and is by the NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity World Champion and Leading Sire, Nu Cash, and is out of Miss Busy Body (by World Show Qualifier, Superior earner in reining, heading, and heeling, and sire of 5 World Champions, Tuf N Busy). His dam, Daisy Maid, boasts of foundation breeding that the Haythorn Ranch’s program has been built around. She is by Eddie Eighty who was one of the Haythorn’s prized stallions that produced earners in multiple events including the NRCHA, NCHA, heading, heeling, and ranch horse competitions, and is out of Happy’s Siesto 73 (a foundation dam of the Haythorn’s breeding program). If you can’t tell just from his breeding, this is an extremely talented gelding, and he does not fall short on living up to his pedigree. Mr. Ed has been a favorite of everyone’s who has climbed in the saddle. He has been used most of his life for everyday and extensive ranch work including doctoring, shipping, overnight rides, gathering, starting colts, etc. He is as dependable as the day is long and is EASY to use to get a job done. Not only does he have a mile long resume outside, but this gelding can absolutely SHINE in the arena as well. From trail classes to ranch horse classes, get ready to bring home the ribbons! This gelding’s ability to tackle different obstacles, mindfulness of where he places his feet, and how easy he is to mauver makes him a great candidate for the trail classes, and his natural cadence, effortless and smooth transitions, +1 gaits, cow sense, and soft handle will get all of the judges looking if were to enter any ranch/stock horse class. Mr. Ed will ride quietly on a loose rein with a level head, can easily be bridled up to be ridden collected, and will even ride around with no bridle both in the arena and outside. He will pick up both leads from a walk, side pass both directions, and can be turned around on the forehand or on his hind end. He has been many miles down state trails, ridden through booming city locations, used to carry a flag, has been around ATVS and various wildlife, and has even had to walk a dog back to the ranch that decided the journey home was just too qfar. Our Mr. Ed’s personality matches America’s beloved Mr. Ed’s personality in the sense that he is very kind, has a unique personality, and will gladly take all of the attention you give to him. He stands quietly for saddling/bathing/blanketing/mounting, will basically load himself, is respectful when backing out of the trailer, can be easily caught anywhere anytime, and is good to shoe. Mr. Ed embodies what we at Rattan Performance Horses strive to offer the public; a gorgeous, phenomenally broke, and bred to the nines horse that brings so much to the table that everyone can appreciate a piece of him no matter what you do!

About Weatherford, TX
In 1854, Methodist Reverend Pleasant Tackett led 15 pioneer families into a land they called " Goshen," which would later become part of Parker County, itself to be created the following year by the efforts of State Representative Isaac Parker and State Senator Thomas Jefferson Weatherford in the Texas State Legislature. [a] Evidence of a prior, failed attempt to colonize the region can be found in the abandoned cabin from 1852-53 located 6 miles (9.7 km) south of modern Weatherford on the J.H. Voorhies farm. In 1856 The railroad arrived in June 1880. The Santa Fe Depot (which houses the Weatherford Chamber of Commerce) was built in 1908 under Jim Crow laws, with waiting rooms segregated and separated by the ticket office.
