Quarter Horse Mare for Sale in Portales, NM
Hot Donna has been a good one to have around our place the past 3 years. We are only her second owners beside the breeder that raised her. She did have a late start to life however she is an outstanding mare. She has been my go to the past year or so she is gentle but not recommended for youth or inexperienced people. She can get a little hot sometimes but nothing dangerous what so ever. She has been started on the barrels and has been expoed a hand full of times. She does need a lot more hauling before she runs she would be a great barrel horse. I’ve used her on the ranch since I’ve owned her you can rope anything, drag, sort, gather. Point her any direction she is going that way. She is gentle and can be left off she will not Buck I have never had her buck even when I first started her she never bucked. She does have a club foot however that doesn’t keep her from performing I have her shod regularly. She is updated on coggins and ready to go anywhere. I am negotiable on her price to the right person and home. Vet check is welcome on buyers expense. She is sound but I never guarantee a horse. She will work and hold a rope extremely well. Please text me for further information or videos I’ll be getting updated ones as soon as it dries up from the rain.

About Portales, NM
Clovis Man inhabited the Blackwater Draw area north of Portales until 11,000 years ago. Seminomadic non-Pueblo Southern Athabaskan groups ( Apache, Navajo) occupied much of the area as early as the 13th century. In the early 18th century, the Comanche displaced the Apache, who had previously lived in this region. The Comanche commanded the area until late in the 19th century. The surrounding area of eastern New Mexico is part of what came to be known in the colonial period during Spanish rule as the " Llano Estacado", an arid and treeless plateau bounded on the north and west by the Caprock Escarpment stretching south from the Canadian River and east along the Pecos River.
