Thoroughbred Mare for Sale in Birdsboro, PA
For your consideration:
Marie Joelle // Marie
2014 ottb mare
Currently located in Gilbertsville, PA
Marie is your ideal puppy dog personality, with a calm demeanor that you don't find often in thoroughbreds. Once she knows you're her person, she's the first to greet you in the field and follow you around. Playful soul and easy to get along with.
Due to arthritis from racing, Marie is best suited to a companion or broodmare home HOWEVER, can be sound for light light riding with injections and proper muscle rehabilitation. Does require front shoes with rim pads for comfort.
Marie is offered to the best of homes with a no auction/slaughter contract, first right of refusal, & a care contract which will include a full written disclosure of known condition. Preference given to buyers who can provide references. I love this mare to death and would like to keep track of where she goes.
Price negotiable to a good home

About Birdsboro, PA
Birdsboro was named for ironmaker William Bird, who established a forge on Hay Creek about 1740. His son Marcus founded Hopewell Furnace in 1771, which was the largest domestic producer of iron by the time of the American Revolution. The Schuylkill Canal, running parallel to the river, was completed in 1827. The Philadelphia and Reading Railroad, constructed to haul anthracite coal, was completed in 1843. Edward and George Brooke, descendants of the Birds, established the Birdsboro Iron Foundry Company (1867), which became Birdsboro Steel Company (1905).
