Quarter Horse Mare for Sale in Mancos, CO

Great little registered roan mare looking for greener pastures. Point her in a direction and she will get the job done. She never tires or quits because it’s too much. She has been used for everything but prefers to be gathering cattle or on the trail. She is a finished barrel horse and great at it but needs more than just that or she will get a little sassy and throw a crow hop or two. I used her all fall to gather off of the mountain for long days load her up multiple times and gather again she loves to work. Ride out together or alone she doesn’t really mind as long as your going somewhere. She has sat most of the winter and it’s time for greener pastures due to my work load. She is too nice of a mare to stand around and look pretty. She has all of the fancy buttons and is the perfect size only standing 14.2. Crosses water and no spook. Easy to shoe and handle. In your pocket kinda gal. In a 50 acre pasture she will leave the herd just to fallow you around. She does need someone who knows a thing or two so an intermediate rider would be good. But this is my go to work/play day/using horse. If there are any questions please reach out to me. I do have videos upon request. I am asking $3500 or best offer the price is negotiable to the right home.

About Mancos, CO

The Mancos Valley has been settled since at least the 10th century, although various severe conditions in the mid to late 13th century saw the area and its multitude of small villages abandoned by the Ancient Pueblo People ( Anasazi). The Mancos area is dotted with inventoried and uninventoried archeological sites, including both isolated houses and shelters and small village complexes. Mancos Valley residents were probably among those who withdrew to the cliff dwellings on Mesa Verde, perhaps for defensive purposes, due to climate change, or as part of concentration policy of possible invaders and occupiers of the region. Archaeological sites of the Ancient Pueblo period include: Bement site, a Colorado State Register of Historic Properties site, representing the first and second Pueblo periods. Between AD 750-850 there was one shelter on the site.
