Appaloosa Mare for Sale in Thousand Oaks, CA

Trail/Pleasure horse deluxe, 13 y.o., 14.3H-15H grade Appaloosa mare, baby doll head, excellent on trail “All Terrain Vehicle”, gentle, brave, bombproof, NO bolt/buck/rear/spook, sound, kid/wife-safe and sane, sound, and a pretty mover too. Very smooth trot/jog that you can sit all day long. She has a well-proportioned refined build, so she is more suitable with a small adult or youth rider under 150 lbs. and under 5’5” tall. “Kearney” is craving that 1:1 connection, ideal for a teen/youth rider who will dote on her. She is a ranch and trail horse originally from Texas. All trail miles, great mind, curious about any new obstacles or scary objects (goes by traffic, dirt bikes, runners, skateboarders, bridges, barking dogs, no problem), and has an eager walk on the trail (yet has more whoa than go), but is being sold as a TRAIL/Ranch horse, NOT for arena work. I would consider her green for arena work and needs more work on bend, smooth transitions, circles, headset. She’s basic point-and-go and stop on trail, but with some professional training, she could be a fancy show prospect for Youths/Juniors, Hunters, Working Equitation, Western/Cowboy Dressage, Trail Trials, competitive trail, Playdays, Extreme Cowboy Challenges, Parades, and more. She would really excel doing competitive Trail Trials over obstacles. She has also been introduced to cows and is quiet, bold and eager to push them around, and cow-ey, but is NOT formally trained as a cow pony. Been flagged with Natural Horsemanship foundation. Socializes and lives in a herd with other horses, and independent to ride out. Bathes/ties/trailer loads. Currently barefoot, strong hooves. Local delivery available within 1-2 hours drive from Thousand Oaks, CA. See more pix and videos of her on my Facebook wall under “Diana Smith Merville”. Come check her out, but ONLY if you truly want a TRAIL/Ranch horse, NOT arena-schooled. In Thousand Oaks, Ventura County, SoCal by Conejo Creek Equestrian Park off the 101 and 23 freeways. DON’T MISS THIS TRAIL-RIDING GEM! Serious inquiries only. To good TRAIL or ranch home only, NOT for a lesson program. Firm on price.

About Thousand Oaks, CA

Chumash people were the first to inhabit what is now called Thousand Oaks, settling there over 10,000 years ago. It was home to two major villages: Sap'wi ("House of the Deer") and Satwiwa ("The Bluffs"). Sap'wi is now by the Chumash Interpretive Center which is home to multiple 2,000 year-old pictographs. Satwiwa is the home of the Native American Indian Culture Center which sits at the foothills of Mount Boney in Newbury Park, a sacred mountain to the Chumash. A smaller village, Yitimasɨh, was located where Wildwood Elementary School sits today.
