Gelding for Sale in Duncannon, PA

14.2 hand paint draft cross gelding born 2009. He is flashy with chrome in all the right places with a full mane and tale. Has a beautiful trot, and a comfortable walk for miles. Personable and will greet you. Stands to be groomed, tacked and mounted, good barn and ground manners, crossties, loads well slant or straight trailer, will ride out first in the group, but prefers to be behind, crosses bridges, is not easily spooked; fine with dogs, cats, chickens, trains, tractors, traffic and gun fire. I was told his is the best on a high line, though I never overnight-ed with him. He seemed not concerned with anything we encountered on the trail. Built to carry any sized rider. Very easy keeper - just feeding a handful of min-a-vite and hay. Reportedly previously barrel raced, and shown in 4-H showmanship. UTD on shots and coggins (Jan 2019). $2500. About Duncannon, PA

Duncannon was originally called Petersburg, and under the latter name was laid out in 1792. The present name is derived from Duncan's Island in the Susquehanna River. The Puritan missionary David Brainerd visited the area in the 1740s. In his journal he describes his trip on the Susquehanna and his brief stay with an Indian tribe on Duncan's Island, across the river from present-day Duncannon. The Mutzabaugh family has close connection to the town, as their market (now grocery store) named after the family has been a presence in the town since 1920, opening originally along the old railroad crossing between Market Square and High Street.
