Warmblood Gelding for Sale in Honea Path, SC
Wonderful to work with in ring. Does a 2'6'' course. Started over 3 foot fences. Started over low cross country fences. Enjoys dressage work. Rather light on the bit. Good leg yielding. Eye catching show horse. Starting flying lead changes. Enjoys slow beginner polo, neck-rein, bump, rollback. Trail rides wonderful in company, leading or following. Prefers to follow. Will trail ride by himself with an experienced rider. Loves water. Good with dogs. Enjoys hanging out with you. Wants to please in everything. Would make a good lady's horse going from ring to trails. Perfect for beginner to intermediate rider looking for a flashy friend. Only selling him because I have become too far advanced in my riding and he doesn't enjoy what I am looking to do. About Honea Path, SC
In an area of textile mills developed in the early 20th century, Honea Path was the site of a violent confrontation between textile union workers and company management on September 6, 1934 during a larger textile strike and efforts at labor organizing. Textile factory guards killed six picketers and injured approximately twenty more in the altercation. The men were reported to have been shot fleeing the picket lines, and many were found with bullet wounds in their backs. This event is featured in the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) documentary on the POV series called "The Uprising of '34". An historical photo essay entitled "Mill Town Murder" is online at Beacham Journal .
