Missouri Fox Trotter Mare for Sale in Bridgewater, IA
2004 Missouri Foxtrotter mare. "Camelot's Painted Lady" Blue papered,15.1 hands. Black/blue roan sabino with socks, large blazed face and gorgeous main and tail. Very smooth and well put together. In addition to a smooth as glass foxtrot, she also lopes nicely. Rides in a hackmore or bosal. Clips, bathes, loads, trailers, ties and trims great. Current on vaccinations, hoof care, worming and has a current Coggins.
Here is a chance for an experienced rider to get an absolutely stunning, well-bred gaited mare with a lot of training for a fraction of what she'd normally sell for. Owner is a rider with a disability and this is just too much horse for a person with chronic pain, fear issues and vertigo.
"Olive" (she used to go by "Sassy") has been standing for about a year and a half now, and has just gotten a handful of rides over the last month. This horse is too nice to waste as a pasture ornament. She needs a tune up by an experienced rider, but has lots of trail and obstacle course experience. Right now, she's a little "looky" at things due to not being anywhere for quite a while, but she's been getting hauled to ropings, barrel races, and lesson days with multiple horses and people just to get her back in the swing of things. She's been on timber trail rides and into a lake and across everything.
She is NOT a dead head. When out on the trail and letting her move at her own pace, she prefers to walk out fast or foxtrot. She's not rude about it, but she's got a big motor, and would probably be well suited for competitive trail.
Experienced riders only, please. At some point in the past, she's gotten away with not doing what she doesn't want to do, and is a little bullheaded. Nothing an experienced rider can't handle, but she's NOT for a newbie or timid rider. This is the ONLY hole she has, and the price reflects not only the "wet saddle blanket time" it will take to remind her of her job, but also the owner's personal financial situation. She needs to go to a new home, and is priced according to that urgency, not to her overall quality.
Cash sale only, bring trailer. Right now, she is located in Bridgewater Iowa, and needs to be moved as soon as a ride can be arranged. If I have to bring her back to Lincoln NE, I will adjust her price. $1500 or best fast cash offer.
Photos are available, and also some videos of her doing trail obstacles with her previous owners.
