Missouri Fox Trotter Mare for Sale in Harrison, AR
Gorgeous blue - papered Fox Trotter chestnut tobiano mare. She is
overweight from being on pasture for the last year w / no riding, and
is only in shape for light riding at this time. She has a nice natural
running walk, fox trot and canter, but she needs further training.
She is quiet and gentle, will stand for mounting, is not spooky. At this
time, I would recommend a male rider or a very confident female rider.
Current on shots and has shoes on the front. She has not been bred,
but should be a great brood mare. Cheyenne has beautiful foundation -
type conformation and could pass that on to her foals.
About Harrison, AR
Native Americans were the earliest inhabitants of the area, probably beginning with cliff dwellers who lived in caves in the bluffs along the rivers. In later times, the Osage, a branch of the Sioux, was the main tribe in the Ozarks, and one of their larger villages is thought to have been to the east of the present site of Harrison. The Shawnee, Quapaw, and Caddo people were also familiar to the area. The Cherokee arrived around 1816 and did not get along with the Osage. This hostility erupted into a full-scale war in the Ozark Mountains.
