Quarter Horse Mare for Sale in Butler, PA
Pretty. Easy keeper. Loves attention. Good for bath, farrier. Great
feet. No vices. Easy to catch. Ties. No bite, kick or buck. Will
lead on the trail but prefers to follow along in the back. Doesn't
get excited or spook at anything. Rather walk than run. Likes to go
along but doesn't fuss if left behind. A good guest or husband horse.
Gets along fine with pasture mates, including cows. Prefers 24 / 7
turnout. Can develop a cough in a dusty barn or if fed dusty hay. But,
does fine in pasture. Only selling because we have too many. Listing
her cheap because of age only. Our #1 concern is that she goes to a
good home. Will be flexible on the price to a good home. E - mail any
questions. You will be pleasantly surprised. She does not look her age.
A good looking horse with much to offer.
About Butler, PA
In it's heyday, the city of Butler was a "Steel Belt" manufacturing and industrial area. In 1902, the Standard Steel Car Company opened one of its largest railcar manufacturing facilities in Butler. It was here that some of the first all-steel rail cars were built. Diamond Jim Brady, the legendary financier, gourmand and gemophile, established the Standard Steel Car Company in 1902, which merged with the Pullman Palace Car Company in 1934, creating Pullman-Standard, a monopoly that was eventually broken by the government. About 2,500 workers produced 60 steel-bed railroad cars per day in 1902.
