Friesian Stallion for Sale in Brooksville, FL
Stunning Friesian / Paint cross gelding. Maitri has an amazing presence &
the potential to excel in any discipline. He was started lightly under
saddle as a 3 year old & put to pasture to mature. I have restarted his
ground training & he is ready to finish your way! He has a soft mouth
(I have only worked him in a gentle snaffle) . He knows to move off
the leg & is extremely sensitive to light leg pressure. He has been
on trail rides & settled in nicely. He's used to traffic of cars &
motorcycles which don't bother him at all. I feel he would be best
suited for either an experienced rider or someone willing to put him in
training with a professional until he has a little more time under saddle.
He cross ties, loves to be groomed, loves attention, stands for vet &
farrier, loads, lunges. Price is firm. Thanks for looking!
About Brooksville, FL
Fort DeSoto, established about 1840 to give protection to settlers from Native Americans, was located at the northeastern edge of present-day Brooksville on Croom Road about one-half mile east of U.S. Highway 41. The fort was also a trading post and a regular stop on the Concord stagecoach line which ran from Palatka to Tampa. The fort was built on top of a heavy bed of limestone, a fact which they were unaware of at the time. This made it exceedingly difficult to obtain water, thus causing the location to be abandoned.
