Paint Mare for Sale in Black Forest, CO
I might have a horse for you to look at if you have not already found
one for your child. She is a 7 year old mare that was broken my myself
when she was three. I broke her in November and had an 8 yr old riding
her by February. I'm only considering selling her due to she needs
more attention. She also drives. If she hears a car she will pull
over to the side of the road on her own. She even did it when a plane
flew over. She is incredibly bomb proof. She is a 14. 3 hand paint mare
that is not registered. Her father was registered but her mother was a
quarter horse mare that was bread and raised on an indian reservation
in oklahoma. The only way that I would consider selling her is if she
was going to a good home.
About Black Forest, CO
The history of the Black Forest area is closely paralleled by that of a larger area traditionally known as the "Pineries". The area originally extended from Divide, Colorado (now known as the town of Monument, Colorado), through the present planning area and east along the Platte-Arkansas Divide to a point where the Ponderosa Pines thinned out. Altogether the Pineries encompassed a 1,000 square mile area. Although the origin of the name is not clear, that portion of the Pineries north of Colorado Springs became known as the "Black Forest" by around the turn of the century. Arrowheads and charcoal pits provide evidence that the planning area was occupied by Native Americans at least 800 years ago.
