Quarter Horse Mare for Sale in Girard, PA
I have owned Leah since she was 5 months old. She is trained extremely
well on the ground. She can lead, lunge, load, bathe, and she's good
with the vet and the farrier. If you just say ''up'' she'll pick up her
feet for you to pick them out. She also is trained to bow. As far as her
riding, she is green broke. She had 90 days training, but has not been
ridden for two years. She has great potential in the Western disciplines
though as she has a very natural low headset, and can turn and spin on a
dime. I will only sell her to a good home that either has an excellent
trainer, or is one, as she needs an experienced rider. A loving home,
with a lot of experience and knowledge is more important. I don't really
want to sell her, I just have to.
About Girard, PA
Girard's history began with a petition to "Township Status" in 1832 by reassigning lands previously allocated to neighboring municipalities (Springfield, Fairview, and Elk Creek). The name is in honor of Stephen Girard, a banking tycoon of the late 1700s and early 1800s. Stephen Girard, a resident of Philadelphia at that time, was chosen for a variety of reasons. He owned much of the neighboring Springfield Township, and had been admired by the residents in the region. Additionally, Girard officials had been lobbying with Stephen Girard's foundation, upon his death in 1831, to be the site of the bequeathed Girard College.
