Quarter Horse Mare for Sale in Lewisburg, OH
Poppie is a 17 yr old mare. She does barrel racing, poles, other speed
events, and hunt seat. I went to the fair with her and made it into the
championship round for speed events because she didn't break the pattern.
She doesn't have the speed to be very competitive in barrels but she knows
patterns very well and she gives it her all. (her best time in barrels
was 25 sec) She is very responsive in the reins and will go where you
want her to go. She would excel in hunt seat, she needs to get her lope
slowed to a canter. She loads, stands for a farrier, baths, and isn't
herd bound She has never run off or bucked or kicked me. She'd be great
for someone who wants to do multiple activites on horseback. She needs
a hard hand while saddleing (she tries to cowpen you)

About Lewisburg, OH
Lewisburg was founded soon after Harrison Township was organized in 1816. In 1833, Lewisburg contained one Lutheran church, four stores, two taverns, two physicians, one botanical practitioner, two merchant mills, forty dwelling houses, and about 200 inhabitants. The community was named for Lewisburg, Virginia (now in West Virginia). In about 1836, pioneer John Mumma founded the community of Euphemia, named for his wife, to the north of Lewisburg on the National Road. The villages officially merged on April 4, 1916, and the combined community retained the name of Lewisburg.
