Quarter Horse Mare for Sale in Fort Collins, CO
Willow is looking for a Natural Horsemanship type home. I purchased
this mare in April 2005 at a sale. She originally came from a ranch in
Montana and supposedly has been roped off of and ridden in the mountains.
Willow ties, trailers, clips, bathes and stands for the farrier.
I rode Willow the night of the sale and she was willing, sensitive and
responsive. A week after the sale, I got on Willow and was promptly
bucked off. I then realized this mare has some real deep seated issues.
I have been working through some of these issues on the ground in the
last year but she needs someone with alot more confidence in the saddle
than I have hence she has not been ridden this past year. Willow is an
extremely emotional, exuberant horse that will need lot of patience to
help her achieve her trust in humans again.

About Fort Collins, CO
Fort Collins was founded as a military outpost of the United States Army in 1864. It succeeded a previous encampment, known as Camp Collins, on the Cache La Poudre River, near what is known today as Laporte. Camp Collins was erected during the Indian wars of the mid-1860s to protect the Overland mail route that had been recently relocated through the region. Travelers crossing the county on the Overland Trail would camp there, but a flood destroyed the camp in June 1864. Afterward, the commander of the fort wrote to the commandant of Fort Laramie in southeast Wyoming, Colonel William O.
