Thoroughbred Mare for Sale in Stafford, VA
11 yo, Super girl with 1 year prof training. We bought her unbroke at
age 8. She is now going well under saddle w / t / c, is started over
fences, and really enjoys jumping. Her half brother is Saluter (6x
champ of the VA Gold Cup) , so jumping is "in the genes. "
She excelled at her first show pinning in all her classes (1 st, 2 nd,
and 4 th) . Sal needs an intermediate rider as she is still green and
lacks some confidence. Her full potential will easily be reached if given
the opportunity to work consistently. We believe she will do best in the
show environment which is not our focus. Sal has great ground manners and
is a very polite horse. She has good feet and is a VERY easy keeper. Too
much potential to be a pasture ornament. Email mngub***@msn. com
About Stafford, VA
English sea captain Samuel Argall abducted the Pamunkey princess Pocahontas near this area on April 13, 1613, while she was residing with her Patawomeck husband, Kocoum, in an attempt to secure some English prisoners for release and ammunition held by her father. It occurred in the northeastern part of this county, from where the colonists took her to a secondary English settlement, known as Henricus or Henrico Town. The vicar Alexander Whitaker converted Pocahontas to Christianity during her captivity. He renamed her "Rebecca" at her baptism. Rebecca married English colonist John Rolfe on April 5, 1614, in Jamestown.
